NCL’s Norwegian Pearl will boldly go where no cruise ship has gone before when it becomes the venue for the first official Star Trek cruise in 2017.
In news which is sure to get Trekkies from all over the galaxy rushing to beam themselves on-board, it’s just been announced that there will in fact be two captains sharing the bridge for the Caribbean sailing. That’s because none other than William Shatner – Captain James T Kirk himself – will host the interstellar cruise, which celebrates 50 years of seeking out new life and discovering new worlds on both our TV and cinema screens.
It will be cruising but not as we know it, with Norwegian Pearl decked out in true Enterprise style for the duration of the six-day Star Trek voyage, which will doubtless see Klingons on both the port and starboard bows, thanks to themed parties, fancy dress events and more Star Trek-related activities to be announced.
The star-studded cruise will depart on a round-trip from Miami and take in such solar-centric destinations as Cozumel, Nassau and the Bahamas and it won’t just be Kirk who’ll be along for the ride. It’s been announced that William Shatner will be joined by a number of other actors from the franchise, including Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis and James Darren.
Norwegian Pearl sets a course for the Caribbean on January 9 2017 and places on-board are sure to be in high demand. However, if this voyage isn’t for you, we have many other Norwegian Cruise Line cruise available, so give our Cruise Concierge team a call on 0808 1234 118 to find out more.
