Entering service in 2004, Caribbean Princess is the fourth member of Princess Cruises "Grand Class" of liners. Affectionatley known as the grand daddy of the fleet, she is slightly larger than her sister ships, Grand Princess, Golden Princess and Star Princess, with an additional deck of staterooms allowing her to carry 3,100 passengers. Other than that she is very similar to her sisters and instantly recognisable by her enormous rear "spoiler" which houses the Skywalkers nightclub and observation lounge. There are five restaurants onboard including two Anytime dining rooms, a traditional dining room, plus a speciality Italian and speciality Steakhouse restaurant. In addition there is a casual buffet-style café plus a pizzeria and hamburger grill. After dinner there is a wide variety of bars and lounges to choose from plus three show lounges, one of the largest casino’s afloat and there’s always Skywalkers nightclub located 15 decks above the ocean. Caribbean Princess also pioneered the " Movies Under the Stars" theatre which is now being added across the entire Grand Class fleet. In terms of recreation she has four swimming pools plus a swim-against-the-current lap pool. She also has an ocean view fitness centre, sports court, nine-hole mini-golf course, golf simulator, jogging track and a wonderful two-storey indoor Fun Zone designed especially for kids plus much more. For relaxation the Japanese-themed Lotus Spa offers a complete escape.

In keeping with Princess Cruises ‘more balconies than any other cruise line’ tag, Grand Princess has four full decks of staterooms with private balconies and a full deck of mini-suites. In fact an incredible 80% of all outside staterooms have a private verandah.

Caribbean Princess has a guest capacity of 3,100, a length of 951ft and a gross tonnage of 113,000. Her maiden voyage was 3rd April 2004 and she cruises at a comfortable speed of 22knots/25mph.

Dining

The chefs aboard Caribbean Princess freshly prepare a delicious menu that everyone can enjoy. You can choose from "Palm Dining Room" which is the formal main dining area, or if you prefer to eat when you want then "Coral Dining Room" and "Island Dining Room" are the places to go. For speciality dining you can choose from; "Sabatini"s" the on-board Italian restaurant, "Crown Grill" for steak and seafood, or if you prefer to dine in the comfort of your own stateroom then "Ultimate Balcony Dining" is available. Casual eatery’s include "24-hour International Café", "Vines" for wine and seafood, "Scoops ice cream bar", "Prego Pizzeria" "Trident Grill" for burgers and hot-dogs and "Afternoon tea" for, well you guessed it, afternoon tea.

Leisure

Caribbean Princess is designed to give you the cruise of a lifetime and this includes a ship packed full of activities to keep you busy all day long. You can take a dip in the swimming pool and unwind in the hot tub. There is a state-of-the-art gym and fitness area, a running track, shuffleboard facilities and internet cafe so you can keep in touch with friends and family back home, plus there is even an art gallery offering world-class art and they even have auctions so you can grab a piece of art history. The Boutiques is the perfect place to grab a duty free bargain and there is even a wedding chapel on-board.

Entertainment

Caribbean Princess is home to a whole host of entertainment. The main theatre on-board is, "Princess Theatre" which provides a variety of outstanding shows and live music. "Movies under the Stars" is the on-board cinema showing the latest films in a spectacular setting, and "Skywalkers Nightclub" is the liveliest place on the ship where you can dance until sunrise. If you fancy your hand at Blackjack, ' Grand Casino' has everything you need for a great night of gambling. If you prefer to sit back and unwind with a cocktail then "Crooners Bar" "Churchill Lounge" and 'Wheelhouse Bar' offer a welcoming atmosphere to do just that.

Relaxation

'Take a whole day out to spoil yourself with a set of treatments in the "Lotus Spa". There are plenty for you to choose from such as; youth enhancing facial, aroma stone therapy, cellulite reduction programme, muscle spa ocean wrap and acupuncture If you prefer to sit in a peaceful atmosphere and read a book then the Caribbean Princess Library is the place for you.

Family

The kids on-board Caribbean Princess have their own dedicated area, with lots to do, see and discover, all in the care of fully trained professionals. There is an age appropriate programme from Princess Pelicans (ages 3-7), Shockwaves (ages 8-12) and Remix (ages 13-17). The young people's section also includes an arcade full of video games, and has proved extremely popular with the teens. There are plenty of activities including; Karaoke, Board Games, Pizza Parties, and Pyjama Parties to name a few, so you can be assured that your children are having as much fun as you are aboard Caribbean Princess.

Medical & Accessibility

There is a well-equipped medical centre on-board Caribbean Princess, with medical supplies and the on-board doctors and nurses. If you need medical supplies then it would be advised to bring them with you for the journey. Caribbean Princess makes every effort to accommodate for wheelchair users, with all staterooms being wheelchair friendly. The hallways are wide and there are lifts all around the decks. If you have a hearing impairment then you will be provided with a TTY kit and the theatres have assisted listening devices. The ship also provides JAWS kits to accommodate for those that are visually impaired.
