Entering service in April 2007, Emerald Princess offers a world of exceptional features and fantastic facilities. Whether it’s kicking back to your favourite film under the starry night sky, enjoying a succulent steak in the steakhouse, taking a dip in one of her many swimming pools or completely escaping from everyday life in the sumptuous spa, there is a little something to suit every taste aboard Emerald Princess.
Whether you prefer the traditional dining of set times or flexible dining so you decide when you eat, this ship accommodates for every taste. The three main dining rooms are; "Botticelli Dining Room", "Da Vinci Dining Room" and "Michelangelo Dining Room". For a more acquired taste you can choose from the speciality restaurants on-board which are; "Sabatini’s Italian restaurant", "Crown Grill" serving up steak and salads and "Ultimate Balcony Dining" offering a romantic evening of food served on the privacy of your very own balcony. If you get peckish during the daytime then you can always make your way to "The Ice Cream Bar", Poseidon’s Pizzeria, "Trident Grill" for hot dogs and burgers, and "Horizon Court" which is open 24 hours and is a buffet styled outlet serving anything from sandwiches to pastries.
In terms of recreation she has four swimming pools as well as a kid’s splash pool and a swim-against-the-current lap pool. One pool is housed in an all-weather conservatory with a sliding glass roof. She also has an ocean view fitness centre offering plenty of work-out machines and an aerobics room, sports court, nine-hole mini-golf course, two golf simulators and a jogging track for those who are sports-minded. You will also be able to find an art gallery which holds daily auctions, a library and an internet cafe so you can keep in touch with friends and family back home.
When it comes to entertainment, you will be able to enjoy Las Vegas style shows in the main theatres - "Cabaret Lounge", "Explorers Lounge”. "Skywalkers Nightclub" is a lively disco where you can sing karaoke and dance all night long, or for another place with a lively atmosphere you could try your hand at poker in the "Gatsby’s Casino". "Wheelhouse Bar" and "Crooners Bar" are both the perfect place to relax with your favourite tipple amongst friends, and "Speakeasy Cigar Lounge" provides a swanky place to sit back with a cigar and a glass of brandy. And not forgetting the “Movies under the Stars” experience which allows you to enjoy films like never before.
The Asian-themed “Lotus Spa" is the place to be to complete relax and unwind. Here you will be able to find a host of treatments including; facials, massages, body wraps and plenty more. There is even beauty treatment available including; hair-styling, manicures and pedicures, so you could truly spend all day in here if you wish. You will also find a serene atmosphere in the on-board library, offering all the books you could possibly need.
The kids on-board this ship have their own dedicated area, with lots to do, see and discover, all in the care of fully trained professionals. There is an age appropriate programme for children aged 3-17. The young people’s section also includes an arcade full of video games, and has proved extremely popular with the teens. There are plenty of activities for your youngsters to enjoy and just some of these include; karaoke, board games and pizza parties, to ensure that the whole family has an amazing time on this incredible ship.
