Royal Caribbean has a selection of cruise ships in the Mediterranean each summer between April and October each year. In 2020, most Mediterranean cruises depart from European ports such as Barcelona, Civitavecchia (near Rome) and Venice. For those who prefer not to fly, Anthem of the Seas departs from Southampton.
Royal Caribbean will have six ships in the Mediterranean in summer 2020. At the end of the season, these will relocate, mostly to the Caribbean, for the winter season, returning to the Med in summer 2021.
The following Royal Caribbean ships are available for Mediterranean cruises in 2020:
Cruisers can choose from a range of different ships to suit all tastes. Vision Class ships such as Vision of the Seas and Rhapsody of the Seas are smaller, accommodating around 2,000 passengers and have facilities such as mini-golf, bungee trampolines and outdoor movie screens. Those looking for action-packed adventure will love Anthem of the Seas, a newer ship will outstanding facilities such as a skydiving simulator, North Star observation pod and bumper cars. She also features an indoor pool, to accommodate for all weathers. Allure of the Seas, meanwhile, is one of the world’s largest ships and will undergo a $165 million drydock renovation before the start of the 2020 season. Additions to this ship will include the tallest slide at sea, a trio of waterslides and kids’ areas and restaurants.
