St. Lucia Cruises
The bustling port city of Castries is St Lucia's capital and is a major tourist destination. The port is named Pointe Seraphine and is just a stone's throw away from the city. People come from all over to visit the famous landmarks such as Atop Morne Fortune which translates as ‘Hill of Good Luck' where the English battled the French to take control of the island. St Lucia is an island in the eastern Caribbean Sea and boasts beautiful mountains and white sand beaches. St Lucia's capital is home to many shopping stores, Cathedrals, shopping markets and most of all, awe-inspiring scenery.
Castries' 100 year old Market offers visitors a wide range of shopping goods including fresh produce, arts and crafts, clothes, shoes and jewellery. The locals expect you to barter so make sure you don't accept the first price given to you. ‘Gable woods' is a shopping centre just outside of Castries and offers a whole host of shops, restaurants and bars.
The Local currency is the Eastern Caribbean Dollar. Barbados is 5 hours behind Greenwich meantime (GMT-5).
