Azamara Journey

Very boutique indeed!! I wasn´t sure what to expect as this was the first time with the company and ship but I can honestly say- a very good time had by all!! We did a 12 night Eastern Med Itinerary last year and booked an outside at time of booking, but when we got on board we asked about upgrading as there was 3 of us sharing the one cabin. To my surprise the lady said we can offer you a Suite for an extra $1000, so I wasnt sure but she asked if I wanted to view it first and I agreed and once they opened the door I could only say yes!!! Much bigger in size, they served Afternoon snacks and you could pick your personal beverage order for your cabin!! Your butler can reserve anything you needed, unpack and pack your luggage- really it was such a huge difference to the outside cabin and very comfortable for us three.

They spend more time in ports of call and you can explore the places all day & night so you get a better feel for the places of interest. Plus cos of the size of the ship- you did get into much more varied ports of call on each itinerary that other companys couldnt do with their larger ships. The steakhouse on board was just fantastic… and I loved that they have NO Formal nights on board and they had Themed nights instead, to give you an example we had a Motown night and the music was great. You had to wear something white which was easy as it was Summer and most people could do this. A very enjoyable cruise.

This was our first 6 star cruise and we decided to book the Azamara Journey as it had come recommended by friends. We loved the size of the ship. Both embarkation and disembarkation was a dream as we didn't have to wait half the day to get off the ship! We also enjoyed the ship being referred to being a country club on water as we didn't need to dress up in dinner suits or fancy dresses, but have the enjoyment of eating in a 1st class restaurant every night.

We had a Club Continent suite which meant we had our own butler which I have to say was wonderful! Anything we needed we just needed to ask and he would try to sort for us.

I would definitely be booking with Azamara again as from the start, middle to the end of the cruise flowed very well!

As soon as I arrived at the port, I thought the ship did look small but as I had done my homework, I was expecting it. From arriving onboard the ship, I was stunned by her sheer elegance. I loved the main atrium and although it looked a bit like Titanic with its sweeping staircase and clock in the middle, I knew I was in for a great cruise. The staff couldn’t do enough for you.

Nothing was ever a problem for them if I asked them for anything. Our cabin was originally made as a twin but after asking for a double bed, we had only popped for lunch and when we got back to the cabin, it had already been converted to a queen size bed. The food was incredible and the freeflowing wine made it so much better. Totally different clientele onboard as although there was freeflowing wine with lunch and dinner, I never saw anyone falling about drunk.

We made very good friends with other passengers onboard and found a lot of people were similar natured to my husband and I so we felt right at home. I have already booked my next Azamara cruise!!!!

This oozed relaxation and traditional settings. Very open areas on board, great pool area with comfy loungers, I loved sitting at the back of the ship in the morning with my coffee overlooking the pool and sea. I loved the open dining policy and the steakhouse Prime is super!! We had an outside cabin which was great, but next time I think I would upgrade to the Veranda. The ‘no formal’ nights really suits me, and I loved the ‘themed nights’ instead, we had the Motown nights and the music was great. Would totally recommend this ship and I believe they have went All inclusive too, which is even better.

On the Journey there is a great atmosphere. It is a good sized ship, but also has very few passengers which made this great in the public spaces as always felt spacious. There was a real nice mix of travelled and educated people who had great stories to tell of past experiences. I knew straight away this was going to be a nice holiday.

The ship was very tastefully done and it had a nice country club feel on board. People would just stop to chat to you if they were passing and talk about your day and theirs. It was as if everyone was so happy and friendly and it really made a difference to what I had experienced on other cruises.

The food was amazing, luckily with all the food that was consumed, we did keep active and avoided putting on too much weight. But again it was a delight to go for dinner and have real discussions with people about topics that were of great interest. Due to the unusual ports of calls we visited, and the variety of different trips that people did in each port of call we were all able to contribute to what we liked about where we had visited.

To say the staff were amazing, would not do them justice. They were exceptional and again so friendly, would do anything for you, it was just impossible to say any form of negative against Azamara. We made some great friends whom we will keep in contact with and would highly recommend them to anyone who wishes to travel on a cruise.

We chose Azamara Journey as our friends had been on the Journey last year and said it had great food, great staff and great trips. They were right. We had a balcony cabin and it was lovely to see the sun come down in the evening whilst having a drink from the mini bar which had soft drinks and water replenished every day.

Our Steward Alfonso was very attentive and no sooner than you had left the cabin it was cleaned even if you hadn’t gone for long.

The food was some of the best we have had on a cruise and Prime C where there was a small supplement was excellent. My husband decided we’d go back as it was so good but you can’t move afterwards as the portions are quite large. I also enjoyed the wines of the areas we visited and I’ll be buying some now we are home for when we have visitors.

The dancers and singers are amazing and I enjoyed some of the lectures in the day that told you about our future destinations. It gives you more time and knowledge to appreciate them whilst you are there.

We had really good time and being a small ship made some friends who we are planning to go with next time.

A sophisticated yet relaxed ship. Newly renovated to give it a fresh feel.

It has a lot to offer in ways of comfort, luxury, great food and fantastic service.

The ship doesn’t have as much to do on board as the likes of its sister companies Royal Caribbean and Celebrity, these ships are more about relaxing and travelling to pretty smaller ports in style.

You will struggle to find a ship that can offer you this calibre of service for the money.

I found this cruise line to be premium Luxury. I liked all the extras I got on-board such as it’s now All Inclusive which also means gratuities are also included.

In all the suites you will get English butler service…priority check in and departure it’s definitely worth paying for. Included as well you get complimentary garment pressing for two items.

I also enjoyed the daily savouries between 4 and 6 pm – always a nice touch. I was amazed I even got a private portrait sitting. The facilities for spa and fitness are great. What you burn off you can put back in with the fantastic dining options including the 2 speciality restaurants Prime c and Aqualina – I enjoyed every mouthful. They also have a complimentary self service laundry available which if your like me is definitely useful.

This really was a fantastic cruise experience

I am a single traveller and I was un sure about cruising being on my own but with the help of a nice lady at Six Star Cruises I have just got back from Azamara Journey . It was wonderful and the staff were so friendly I did not feel on my own. I am used to travelling with my husband and when I lost him was a bit scared to travel but now I can not wait to book my next cruise… Thank you Six Star Cruises and Azamara

I usually book Fred Olsen as I find their approach towards single occupancy travellers is better than most. But as a treat I decided to go for an Azamara cruise as I had heard the small ship atmosphere that I look for in a cruise ship was present here. Also the cruise cost me a little more than usual, the price that I paid to get off the at the end was a lot less than Fred Olsen, as all tips were included, along with teas, coffees, house wines and the occasional beer. The ship was just absolutely stunning, and I could really see where the extra money had gone too! The food was to die for, I’ve never experience anything like it! If you are like how I was, worried that I wouldn’t be looked after, or that I would be on my own, please don’t, you could be out there already having the holiday of a lifetime!

Small, friendly, luxurious. My favourite Cruise line and I have tried a few. I even think they are up there with Silversea & Seabourn.

We decided to try it and I’m pleased I made the final decision. Shes an old Regent ship but you wouldn’t know it, Deep pile carpets throughout and lovely lounge chairs on the decks.

Food was mouth watering too. Lots of healthy options so I didn’t put on too much weight.

With Azamara being quite small in size we were able to get into all the small ports of call which was a delight. Stepping off the ship and being in the heart of the town was excellent.

Just wanted to say what a fabulous time we had on our Singapore cruise. The Ship was wonderful as all refurbed, new beds and new balcony furniture and the restaurants all updated since we last went. The pool area is even better and with new pool flooring and new sunbeds really nice to while away the sea days on board.

The itinerary was lovely as we love to go to Singapore and we had a prestay before we joined the ship all included.

I have heard Azamara are going all inclusive in the spring so even though we wanted for nothing it will be even better!

Will be booking again very soon with the 6* concierge I deal with!

My friend and I have just returned from our Azamara cruise.

I just want to say it was the best holiday we have ever taken!

We went to South America for the Rio Carnival at the end of Jan 2013.

First of all the ship was an excellent standard and intimate size compared to the massive ships there is today. The food was excellent. The Prime C restaurant is one of the Speciality restaurants. The Steak in here melted in your mouth and with a bottle of house red it just topped it off!

We had a Club Continent Suite which was marvellous as we had a butler who brought us daily savouries between 4pm and 6pm. We had complimentary bottle of Gin and Scotch whisky. As we were staying in the continent suites we got into Prime C free of charge. We also had breakfast on a few occasions on our balcony which our good friend and butler Ezerk arranged for us.

The carnival in Rio was absolutely amazing! We booked our Rio tickets well in advance and got some fantastic seats with excellent views of all the costumes, dances and carts. We couldn’t take the smile off our faces as carnival was so infectious with the music and the dancing.

I so wish I was still there.

I definitely recommend booking this cruise well in advance and pre book your Carnival tickets ASAP as they book very fast.

We have just returned from a Med cruise with Azamara Club Cruises. This was our 4th time with them and I can honestly say they are just as good as when the first time we went.

We booked a veranda stateroom with our own private balcony. This was ideal as I hate to feel enclosed and it was great to have our breakfast on our own balcony whilst we see our new destination!

The food on the ship was just excellent. We dined in the Prime C steakhouse which was lovely. Our steaks just melted in our mouths you could really taste the quality.

We love the jogging track on the ship as we like to keep active whilst we are away and also enjoyed the gym in the mornings.

The best part of the cruise was spending a lot more time in port we overnighted in a few ports of call on the ship so we got to explore a bit more!
