Launching in 1995, Crystal Symphony is the inaugural ship in Crystal Cruises fleet of mid-sized luxury cruise ships. Larger than her six-star luxury counterparts, she offers some of the highest guest to space ratios in the industry and is one of the most spacious cruise ships at sea.

Crystal SymphonyOn board Crystal Symphony, there is a wide selection of dining, entertainment and recreational options. She has a great choice of eating venues throughout the day including four superb evening restaurants which are the main Crystal Dining Room offering distinctive international cuisine, Prego restaurant serving Italian cuisine in an intimate atmosphere, Silk Road and The Sushi Bar, each exclusively featuring menus created by the famed chef Nobu Matsuhisa, and Tastes, an open kitchen style restaurant. Other eateries include the buffet-style Lido Café, the casual poolside Trident Bar & Grill and The Bistro for morning and afternoon snacks.

After dinner the Galaxy Lounge is the ship’s main entertainment venue featuring lavish Broadway-style production shows. There is also Hollywood Theatre for recently released movies and a wide variety of bars and lounges including the Starlite Club for dancing and cabaret, Avenue Saloon cocktail and piano bar, the Connoisseur Club cigar lounge, Palm Court observation lounge, and Luxe disco plus a casino with slot machines.

For recreation there are two large pools, one flanked by two Jacuzzis and the second covered by a retractable roof for all weather conditions. In addition there is a state-of-the-art fitness centre, exercise studio, jogging track and sports deck with a golf driving range and putting green, shuffleboard court, table tennis and two full-size paddle tennis courts. The Fantasia children’s centre and Waves teen centre offer something for young cruisers. For relaxation the Feng Shui concept Crystal Spa offers a total escape complete with saunas and steam rooms.

In terms of accommodations there are large, private verandahs in more than half the staterooms on board whilst the remainder have large picture windows.

The Crystal Symphony first set sail in May 2005. Traveling along at 20 knots/23mph, she measures 781 feet (238m) in length. Weighing 51,044 tonnes, she carries 922 passengers.

Dining

The main place to dine on the Crystal Symphony is "The Crystal Dining Room". Offering international cuisine in a highly elegant setting, it’s always a favourite with the on-board guests.

Making sure they cater to everyone, there are alternative restaurants on the ship too. For lovers of Italian food there’s The "Prego" restaurant. A restaurant specialising in Asian cuisine is also on-board, "Silk Road". And, if you like your sushi, head over to the popular "Sushi Bar". The menus here have been overseen by Japanese master chef, Nobu Matsuhisa. Reservations are required at these three restaurants.

If you’re after a casual eatery, you can't go wrong with "Tastes". A poolside, open kitchen restaurant, "Tastes" offer evening drinking with sophisticated international food on the menu.

Another casual venue is the "Lido Café". With both indoor and outdoor seating, the "Lido Cafe" serves breakfast as well as simple selections, including pancakes, omelettes and fresh fish.

The "Trident Bar and Grill" is another tasty option. Here you can tuck in to a Late-Risers Breakfast (until 11.30am). Open throughout the day, the Trident Bar and Grill" is where you can also enjoy hot dogs, burgers, tuna melts and other tasty treats.

For coffees and freshly baked pastries there’s the ever so relaxed "Bistro" - which is in the style of a European street cafe.

There are plenty of bars and lounges where you can go for a drink or two, including the "Avenue Saloon cocktail and piano bar", the "Connoisseur Club cigar lounge", and the "Palm Court observation lounge".

Leisure

There are two large pools on the Crystal Symphony. One of the pools is bordered by two bubbling Jacuzzis - and the other pool is covered by a retractable glass dome cover - so you are free to swim come rain or shine. Other leisure activities include an "Exercise Studio" - perfect for those early morning workouts. For keen joggers, there’s a jogging track. The sports deck on this ship has a golf driving range and putting green, shuffleboard court, table tennis and two full-size paddle tennis courts. In the state-of-the-art "Fitness Centre" yoga and Pilate classes are available - at no extra charge. If you like a game of tennis, the Wimbledon Court welcomes both doubles and singles matches. And, at Crystal Symphony’s Computer University@Sea, you can create your own website all about your worldly adventures! Here, you can also learn the basic technology and you can also send emails too.

Entertainment

Fancy watching a stunning Broadway-style show? Then take a seat in "The Galaxy Lounge".There are recently released movies and classic film favourites - showing in the Dolby equipped "Hollywood Theatre". Just want to dance the night away? Then the "Luxe" disco is where it’s at. For both dancing and cabaret there’s "Starlite Club". Perhaps you fancy a gamble? There’s a "Casino" and slot machines on-board too.

Relax

Unwind in the "Crystal Spa". Offering the ultimate escape, plenty of treatments are to be had here. Treatments include reflexology, ocean wraps, facials and massages. Specially designed, the Feng Shui-designed retreat is one of the most beautiful at sea, with treatment rooms overlooking the ocean and Zen gardens for relaxing in. There's a full service salon, saunas and steam room here too. For a relaxing read in a comfortable setting, head to the Library.

Dining

"The Crystal Dining Room" is the main place to dine and offers a great selection of international cuisine all wrapped within a sophisticated setting. If you like your sushi then make sure you visit “Silk Road” and for the finest Italian cuisine at sea, be sure to take a seat at “Prego”. If you simply wanted a casual eatery then you could try the open-kitchen poolside restaurant – “Taste”. “Lido Café” is another great spot and serves plenty of delicious fresh food in an informal indoor/outdoor setting. Or, the “Trident Bar and Grill” is the place to indulge in burgers, tuna melts and hot dogs. To enjoy a cup of coffee and a freshly baked pastry make sure you visit the European-style “Bistro” in the afternoons where you can do just that.

You will also find various bars and lounges around the ship, each boasting their own elegant atmosphere. Choose from; "Avenue Saloon cocktail and piano bar", the "Connoisseur Club cigar lounge", and the "Palm Court observation lounge".

Leisure

The activities to enjoy whilst on the ship include taking a leisurely swim in one of the two swimming pools, or simply unwinding in the bubbling Jacuzzi beside it. If you fancied taking part in enriching activities then you can try the “Computer University@Sea Programme”. Here you will be taught all the basics you need to know about computers and they will even help you create your very own website. If you enjoy a good game of tennis then head on over to the “Wimbledon Court” in which you’ll find two full-size paddle tennis courts. Golfers will love the driving range and putting green, and fitness fanatics can be found in the “Fitness Centre”, offering a great range of fitness machines and exercise classes.

Entertainment

"The Galaxy Lounge" is the place on the ship to see incredible Broadway-style shows, or you could go and watch a movie the “Hollywood Theatre”. Make sure you dance the night away at the “Luxe” disco, or you could dance to live music at the “Starlite Club”. Alternatively if you are feeling lucky, take a trip to the “Casino” and enjoy a good game of roulette, blackjack or craps.

Relaxation

Immerse in complete ultra-luxury at the “Crystal-Spa”. This award winning venue offers a full range of treatments including; body wraps, facials and massages. It even overlooks the ocean to offer a truly relaxing experience. Here you will also find a salon facility, saunas and a steam room. If you simply wanted to kick back and unwind with a great book then make sure you take a look at the extensive range in the on-board “Library”.
