Experience luxurious British cruising on-board Queen Victoria, an outstanding blend of the classic and the contemporary. Given a makeover in 2017, she now has an extended sun deck resort where you can dine al fresco, while the main restaurants have also been refreshed.
The ambience on-board is one of sophistication and glamour, with Cunard’s White Star service helping you feel pampered during every minute of your voyage. Guests can while away the time in the on-board spa, take in a live show at the theatre or simply unwind with a drink at one of the many bars and lounges.
If you are staying in Britannia class accommodation, then the Britannia Restaurant is where you will dine and choose from a selection of à la carte specialities. There are two Grill Rooms – Queens Grill and Princess Grill – with Queens Grill exclusive to Grill Suite guests. Both of the Grill dining venues are exclusive eateries boasting impressive a la carte menus. For an alternative choice, there is the Verandah, which boasts a menu created by Michelin-starred chef Jean-Marie Zimmermann. Casual eateries include The Lido Café, which has a buffet where you can help yourself, and the always popular Golden Lion Pub, where traditional British pub food is served, including fish and chips and steak and mushroom pie.
Second only to Cunard’s flagship Queen Mary 2 when it comes to size, the Queen Victoria certainly offers a lot of choice when it comes to accommodation. From Inside, Oceanview and Balcony Staterooms to Queen’s Suites, half of the ship’s decks feature accommodation which is spacious and provides the perfect place to watch the sunset from your balcony.
Queen Victoria offers an array of activities. There are two swimming pools and five whirlpools, as well as fully equipped gymnasium and fitness classes including yoga, Pilates and aerobics. In what is a first at sea, Queen Victoria also offers fencing lessons – perfect if you want to try something a little different. If you are feeling competitive, there is a choice of both shuffleboard and deck quoits, and if you are a keen golfer, you can practice your swing with the help of the on-deck golf nets. If maritime history interests you, explore the ships museum where maritime memorabilia and artefacts are complemented by an interactive programme. If you love to shop, you will find illustrious names like Harrods, Royal Doulton and Wedgwood in the Royal Arcade.
On Queen Victoria, children have their very own dedicated play area, The Play Zone. Filled with toys, games and activities, it is a great place for the kids to hang out, where British nannies supervise the youngsters.
Her Royal Spa by Elemis boasts a range of indulgent treatments and massages, including the Ionithermie Revitalising Leg Therapy – perfect if you suffer from stiff and sore joints.
In the evenings, you can take your seat and watch a spectacular show in the magnificent Royal Court Theatre. If you have brought your dancing shoes with you, waltz around the dance floor in the elegant Queens Room or move to the sounds of the resident band in Hemispheres. In contrast, you can test your mind in the pub quiz or enjoy a flutter in the Empire Casino. There are also various bars and lounges around the ship where you can relax with your favourite tipple and talk amongst friends. These include Café Carinthia, Chart Room, Churchill´s, Commodore Club, Golden Lion Pub and Hemispheres.

My husband booked a surprise cruise on the Queen Victoria for our wedding anniversary. It was magical. The ships design is so elegant, and our room, which was a balcony room, was so nice. The attention to detail is amazing and for the whole trip I felt so special. It will be a trip I will never forget. We thoroughly enjoyed the formal nights and the shows on-board were spectacular. The food was out of this world and the crew couldnt do enough for us. Truly exceptional. The Fjords were amazing too, a place that I have always wanted to visit. It must off cost an arm and a leg, but my husband assured me it was a lot less than I was guessing.
When I first arrived at Southampton to board Queen Victoria, I didn’t know what to expect when I boarded. Once onboard, I was stunned by her sheer grandeur and elegance. I was welcomed by a lovely glass of champagne. Both my friend and I went straight to the cabin to see our new home for the next few nights. We were in a Balcony cabin and I thought the cabin was lovely. Looking over the balcony, I didn’t realise we would be as high up as we actually were.
Restaurants were all lovely. We were dinng in the Brittania restaurant which is the main restaurant for everyone not in suite cabins. Our table was allocated against the window so we should have had a nice view however as it was dark everynight when we went, we didn’t have a view of much. The food onboard was outstanding and nothing was ever too much trouble for them.
The bars onboard are always kept up to high standards and once again nothing was ever too much trouble. There wasn’t a lot of kids onboard however we did walk by a kids club where we saw reps with children doing different activities so its refreshing to know that if I choose to come back onboard with my child then it won’t be an issue and she will be well looked after with lots of different things to do.
I and my husband sailed on the Madeira and the Canaries cruise. We drove down to Southampton, we parked our car and had our luggage whisked away to be put ready for us in our cabin and then boarded the ship. It only took 40 minutes to board, met with a glass of champagne and our holiday started. Why people fly I have no idea! Food and beverages were to excellent standard - menus were innovative and never boring. The Cabin was comfortable and welcoming, great decor. Public rooms were comfortable clean and to high standard. Cafe Corinthea, Chart Room and Commodore Club are the places to be. The Martini Mixology - is great fun and a bit different but great entertainment. Overall on Cunard we loved it and already looking for the next one, I would also recommend Cunard to the right people. If your looking for a restful but stress free relaxing holiday it is hard to beat!
Just come off of the Cunard, Queen Victoria – Lovely ship, very glamorous and old fashioned style similar to titanic
Very relaxed atmosphere on board the ship, and I don’t think we saw many kids too which made it a lot quieter
Food on board is fabulous thoroughly enjoyed all the meals on board, used the buffet for breakfast and lunches most days and the main dining room for our main evening meals
The service and standard, the staff were very friendly and thorough!
We had a balcony cabin on board, I found this very spacious comparison to some of the other ships I have been on, and its great just to be able to sit out before meals and enjoy a glass of wine with room service away from everyone
I used the spa facilities regularly during the cruise, and found the prices quite reasonable for the treatments available
We thoroughly enjoyed Cunard, a lot more relaxed than some other cruises and just what we wanted.
Cunard has a grand country home feel about it. Everywhere you turn, there's beautiful artwork, rich Italian marble, lovely polished wood and glittering chandeliers. It’s real old fashioned glamour – and I love the whole experience. The atmosphere makes your whole holiday seem like a dream. Everyone should give this cruise line a go.
16 night Adriatic discovery 3 cruise. The Queen Victoria is a beautiful ship and is very spacious but not too large of a ship. There is a variety of dining options on board and we particularly liked eating in the Courtyard which was adjoining the Queens Grill restaurant as it created a lovely atmosphere eating outdoors and seeing the beautiful sunsets of an evening. The staff were all so polite and attentive they couldn’t do enough for you. All in all it was a wonderful atmosphere on board and we would definitely travel on the Queen Victoria again.
My first impression of the Queen Victoria was that it was larger than I was expecting it to be. I was really impressed that when we checked in and boarded the ship, we were met by extremely well dressed officers and staff offering champagne and orange juice. I decided to go straight to the stateroom to leave my handbag so I could go straight to lunch.
We were allocated a veranda stateroom and once again I was really impressed by the size of the cabin as for some reason I was expecting it to be smaller. Attention to detail was second to none in the cabin and the bathroom I thought was stunning with the marble.
After having a wander around the ship, we went for dinner in the Brittannia restaurant and although I am a very fussy eater, nothing was ever a problem to the waiters and I was served a 3 course delicious meal.
Entertainment wise we sampled everything from the theatre to the casino to the bars and attention to detail in every single please was impeccable.
I left the ship next day with an exceptionally high opinion of the ship and would definitely recommend this ship to family/friends and colleagues alike.
