Enjoy relaxed, traditional cruising tailored towards the older market on-board Balmoral. A smaller ship, she can navigate waterways that larger vessels cannot, while she’s also tailored to a more relaxing voyage with traditional décor and facilities on-board.
There are casual and formal dining options including five different restaurants, while the entertainment comes in the form of cabaret, comedy and themed nights, such as ballroom or 60s evenings. Of course should you prefer something a little quieter, there are many bars and lounges offering a more peaceful escape. You can also enjoy the Atlantis Spa, with its various beauty treatments and massages.
Dining on-board Balmoral is always a highlight of your cruise. There are six fantastic dining venues all serving a range of delicious dishes perfectly prepared by expert chefs. Take a seat in the beautiful Ballindalloch, Spey and Avon restaurants to start the day with a breakfast cooked just the way you like it, or indulge with a mouth-watering five-course á la carte dinner. Visit the Palms Café for a tempting self-service buffet - perfect for a quick lunch or satisfying late-night snack - or perhaps book a table at The Grill and treat yourself to succulent prime-cut steaks, juicy burgers, fresh seafood. Room service is also available, as is a traditional Afternoon Tea.
The cabin types on board Balmoral are interior, porthole, picture window, balcony or suite. Single cabins are available for solo travellers. Whichever room you choose, you are sure to find the perfect home-from-home with even the cheapest cabins having climate control, an interactive smart TV, hairdryer, fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Selected suites include Cunard’s Suite Dreams package, which includes a welcome pack including flowers, a fruit basket, a bottle of sparkling wine and more.
For days when you are not visiting a port, the ship has lots of leisure activities to keep you busy all day long. Play a spot of golf, jog around the promenade, take advantage of the fitness centre with classes such as Yoga and Pilates, take a dip in one of the two swimming pools or four Jacuzzis or soak up the sun on the loungers. Shop-till-you-drop for the range of jewellery, clothes and perfume on offer, give yourself some quiet time to admire fantastic views from your balcony, read a book in the library or observe the spectacular art in the on-board art gallery.
What better way to spend your day than pampering yourself with a selection of treatments in the spa? You can choose from a selection of treatments including massages, facials and body wraps, all with the magnificent view of the ocean ahead. There is also a hairdresser on-board.
For younger guests sailing aboard Balmoral during the peak holiday season, the Little Skippers Club provides a variety of entertainment and activities for children aged between 5 and 11 years old. These activities include arts and crafts, discos, treasure hunts and much more, which are run by a friendly team of hosts and hostesses.
There are plenty of bars and lounges on-board Balmoral with a variety of shows and entertainment acts. The Neptune Lounge features live shows and cabaret acts, while the Morning Light Pub has a friendly atmosphere hosting a line-up of comedians and live music. The Observatory Lounge is where you can have pre-dinner drinks and marvel at extraordinary ocean views, and the Lido Lounge offers cocktails and dancing to the on-board band. Alternatively, if you fancy your chances with lady luck, then try the casino for blackjack, roulette and poker games.
