MSC Sinfonia entered service with MSC Cruises in March 2005 and belongs to the Mistral class of ships. In 2015, MSC Cruises spent more than $200 million on refurbishing the four Mistral class ships with a revolutionary ‘stretching’ procedure which saw the ships cut in half and an 80-foot long section inserted into the middle of each one. This not only added an extra 200 staterooms but also resulted in improved spa and childrens’ facilities as well as the addition of an interactive Spray Park to the top deck.
With a sleek exterior and tasteful modern interior, MSC Sinfonia is a beautiful and elegant ship offering a wealth of incredible features and exceptional facilities. Once aboard, guests can expect five-star dining, incredible spa facilities and an array of stunning accommodation categories to choose from.
Her passenger decks are all named after famous symphonies and most of the public areas are small and intimate. There are four dining venues including two main dining restaurants, a buffet-style cafeteria and a casual outdoor eatery plus numerous bars and lounges. Other facilities include a 713-seat two-tier theatre, cabaret lounge, a large casino, two swimming pools complete with separate kid’s wading pool, numerous hot tubs, a Spa, mini-golf course and kids club facilities plus much, much more.
You will find that on this cruise ship, dining is most definitely one of the highlights. There are two main restaurants on-board, Il Galeone and Il Covo as well as an outdoor, buffet-style restaurant named La Terrazza, which - for your convenience - is open 20 hours a day. Offering only the finest food, you can discover an array of Mediterranean and international cuisine in each one of these eateries. For a quick bite, opt for Caffé del Mare, as a range of grilled fast food is served here. In a refined setting, Le Baroque Café is the ideal place to enjoy a freshly baked pastry and coffee. There are several drinking establishments on-board too, including the Sinfonia Bar and Manhattan Bar. Room service is available at all times of day, but has some small charges depending on what you order.
MSC Sinfona has a range of cabins to suit every taste and budget, from interior cabins to those with windows or balconies, large family cabins and luxurious suites. Each features a double bed which can be converted into two singles and most have the option of pulling down dunk beds from the ceiling for third or fourth guests. For larger families, interconnecting staterooms are also available.
There are plenty of ways that you can spend your days at sea on-board this incredible ship. You can take a swim in one of the outdoor swimming pool, or even relax and unwind in the thalassotherapy whirlpool too. If you like sports, have a go on the simulated climbing wall or the ship´s other fitness facilities which include volleyball and basketball courts as well as a jogging track. If you’re a keen golfer, then be sure to have a go on the mini golf course. For an invigorating work out, get your gym gear on and head to the on-board gymnasium. There are also a host of duty-free boutiques on-board, for those who want to do some shopping for gifts and souvenirs.
The Atlantica Spa is the place to go for a relaxing massage and other body-pampering treatments. There is also a Thermal Suite on-board, where you’ll discover an assortment of steam rooms with herbal aromatherapy infusions, such as camomile and eucalyptus. There is a rasul chamber and beauty salon here too. If you’re in need of a relaxing read, check out the diverse range of books in the library.
With MSC Sinfonia’s state-of-the-art Show Lounge, you can look forward to a variety of excellent shows and acts. If you want to dance into the early hours, boogie on over to the futuristic Pasha Club Disco. In various lounges and bars throughout the ship, you’ll find plenty of live music - perfect for listening or dancing to. You’ll also see there are plenty of quiet spots too, perfect for relaxing or enjoying a night-cap in. Alternatively, test your luck at the glitzy SanRemo Casino or if you fancy a game of cards with your new-found friends, then you can do just that in the card room. Little cruisers will have bags of fun, thanks to MSC Sinfonia’s qualified entertainment staff. Available all day, every day, they’ll entertain children and teens aged 3 – 17 for no extra charge. Children of all ages will also love the Spray Park which is packed with fun water features, as well as new play areas such as the Pinocchio Playroom and the Teens Area. These were created in partnership with household names such as Chicco, LEGO® and Namco®.
