Have cruised with P&O before but not on the Aurora. Boarding was slick and fast the inside cabin clean and what we expected. We were on a 17 night cruise from Southampton round the Med. We had first sitting dinner (6.30) in the Medina . We sat at a table of eight with six of the nicest people we have met on any cruise Mixed ages and backgrounds but we all got on famously and were the noisiest table there. A bit of ship movement across the Bay of Biscay but improved after we entered the Mediterranean. The Orangery on deck 12 was the self service restaurant breakfast like all the other ships. Plenty of room to sit with a covered swimming pool next door. Also between the two pools was the Sandwich bar you could get sandwiches pizza baked potatoes and a range of burgers. The ones we had were very good.

Dinner in the Medina was of P&O standard good variety of food to suit all tastes and hot plates. We had the same waiters who were excellent. The drinks were reasonable prices pint of Spitfire or Pedigree was £3.40 pub prices and no added service charge. The cinema showed a reasonable selection of films four times a day.

Plenty of quizzes of all types enough to suit most people. The Headliners theatre group did the same shows we had seen on previous trips. The cruise director really only saw him to announce the shows in the theatre. He kept saying tell us what you want to see/hear/do but you could never find him. The rest of the entertainment team not bad. Two guest comedians Lee Wilson quit good but john Lenahan was not so popular.

As this was going to be our first ever cruise I have to be honest I was really nervous. We got to the dock and our first sight of Aurora was breath-taking, it was enormous. Would we like it? Would we fit in? Would we feel a bit daft on the formal night? When we first got on board, we were told that lunch was being served in the Orangery. It was horrible, far too many people attempting to fill their plates with stuff the probably werent going to eat. It actually convinced me that we had made the wrong decision and I knew then I was going to regret booking a cruise. But I have to be honest, when we got to our cabin it was beautiful and when we went down for dinner that first night I was blown away. The food was fabulous and throughout the whole cruise the service was truly fantastic. Really love the Beatles experience too – bit of a fan so it was great. We had a great holiday and will definitely cruise more.

Aurora ship we sailed on last year with po cruises. We here all ladies that travelled had a great time we all enjoyed something different about the ship. Have to say the entertainment was exceptionally good and great having a cinema as well. Must try the spa great way of relaxing with fab offers. We also enjoyed the dance classes on board too

My first cruise was on P&O on the Aurora my concierge had recommended her to us and I wanted to know everything .

From the moment we boarded her elegance and charm were apparent as was the attention from the staff with many people on board who had cruised her regularly.

I loved my cruise so much that less than a month after my return I have just booked next years World Cruise and am so excited…

The last of the classic ships built by P&O and in my eyes a “real” ship, I’m not a fan of floating tower blocks with 1000s of people. This ship manages to feel up to date and traditional at the same time, a bit like the Oriana too

Just come back from A Mediterranean Cruise on the Aurora, this is the second time sailing with P&O and it’s been great!

The crew always make our holiday, from the moment we step on to the ship until the moment we leave they are so welcoming and lovely. Me and my wife have cruised a few times and we just think that we wouldn’t go on any other ship now. As we are getting older we haven’t got the ability to walk around these massive magnificent ships but the Aurora is a perfect size. We embarked very quickly and were shown to our cabin so we could have a quick rest before exploring and having a bite to eat.

The food at the Alexandria Restaurant was fantastic! We loved this place, we had a great waiter called Tom who was extremely helpful and even recommended a few dishes for us to try! We also enjoyed the SideWalk café in the day for a spot of lunch. To be honest on these cruises you are spoilt for choice, it’s a disappointment when you get home and dine in some of the restaurants here as the standards are just so high on the cruise.

The main clientele are British which suits us as most things are geared towards our tastes, the entertainment in the Curzon theatre was brilliant!! We also enjoyed the Monte Carlo Casino to have a bit of a flutter and a banter with some of the other guests. I visited the Champions sports bar regularly as I like to keep up with the football and some of the golf, great bit of time relaxing with out the wife.

The Cabins are great, enough space, nicely decorated and we have stayed in a range from Inside to Suites but Balcony Cabins are the Ideal choice for us now as nothing compares so sitting on the Balcony in the morning with a coffee and at night with a wine just staring up at the stars with peace and quiet.

We have already started looking at something for summer and we’ve only been back a week. P&O great service and fantastic cruise!

AURORA – sailing from Southampton suits me and my partner as we can take as much luggage as we want and we don’t like flying. This is our 4th cruise with P&O and the service is phenomenal, I really enjoyed relaxing around the Crystal Pool and grabbing a light lunch at Penant Bar,

Our cabin steward greeted us as we unpacked and nothing was too much trouble > the cabins were smaller than I had imagined however everything fitted in despite it being such a long voyage . It was not long before we got to know other guests onboard not only those at our table and the staff also seemed to know everyones name very quickly . The dining was very varied and we were never aware of repeat menus with exception perhaps of my favourite Eggs Benedict for breakfast which only arrived on Tuesdays .

The entertainment were great and the shows included West End cabaret as good as any I have ever seen > There were no dance hosts onboard which was a shame as my husband is no longer as keen a dancer as I and although the entertainment team do try it is not the same as once it was .
