Launched by HRH The Duchess of Cambridge, Royal Princess is a truly magnificent ship, combining traditional cruise luxury with a sense of unrivalled contemporary wonder, be it in the elegant décor or the technological innovations which make your cruise so special. The on-board facilities are exceptional, including the awesome SeaWalk® – a glass-bottomed walkway that extends high over the ocean.
You’ll delight in the choice of traditional and casual dining venues that let you choose between fine cuisine and a tasty snack, while the extensive sports facilities, art collection, spa treatments and live entertainment ensure you’ll never be bored for even a second during your voyage.
In 2018, Royal Princess underwent a $15.9 million refurbishment where places such as the Lotus Spa, Camp Discovery Youth Centers, and accommodations saw a revival to help your experience on-board.
Royal Princess has three main dining rooms, Allegro, Symphony and Concerto, which are decorated in an elegant, attractive style and offer a choice of Traditional Dining at set times at the same table each evening or more flexible Anytime Dining. Guests can enjoy something more casual in the expanded Horizon Court buffet, twice as large as on other Princess ships, with carving stations, a hibachi grill and plenty more to enjoy. For snacks and light bites, there’s also Alfredo’s Pizzeria, the Trident Grill and the 24-hour International café, as well as complimentary room service around the clock.
For a modest cover charge, guests may also choose to dine in Sabatini’s Italian restaurant, the Crown Grill steakhouse, Ocean Terrace Seafood Bar or the Crab Shack. Private dining is available at Chef’s Table Lumiere, surrounded by a curtain of light, or on your balcony with Ultimate Balcony Dining.
Royal Princess houses many stateroom options to suit every preference and budget. For some added luxury, why not try a tempting stay in a spacious Suite? There are also Oceanview, Inside and Balcony staterooms available, each featuring all the amenities you could desire. Families are well catered for with staterooms sleeping up to four, as well as the option of interconnecting staterooms or two-bedroom suites which sleep up to eight guests in comfort.
One of the most popular features on the Royal Princess is the impressive Movies Under the Stars, letting you watch first-run movies with complementary popcorn, cookies and other snacks. You may enjoy a theatre show in the Princess Theatre, with a wide variety of professional-quality shows to enjoy. There’s also the first ever TV studio at sea, Princess Live!, which will host culinary shows, game shows, comedy and more, or you can simply unwind on the pool deck and enjoy the spectacular water and light show of the fountains. Club 6 is the ultimate party venue, whilst there’s always something going on in the Piazza which features street performers amidst quaint boutiques and glass-walled lifts.
There are extensive facilities on-board, including several swimming pools with hot tubs and sun loungers and a full fitness centre with high-quality gym equipment. You can give basketball, tennis and volleyball a try on the Centre Court or practice your golf swing on the putting green, indoor driving range or portable batting cage. There’s also a laser shooting range, a croquet area and much more. You can also enjoy the SeaWalk, an enclosed walkway that extends out over the ocean with astounding panoramic views, visit the on-board art gallery or try your luck in the Vegas-style casino.
The Lotus Spa is the largest spa on any Princess ship, with some new features including the Relaxation Lounge, the Enclave and treatment villas designed for couples to enjoy together. There is also the Sanctuary; the adults-only area of the ship offering poolside cabanas, sun loungers and more spaces to unwind in peace.
There are great facilities to keep the children entertained on-board Royal Princess. Pelicans, for ages 3-7, has a toddler area, a mini air hockey table, art and crafts features and a space for movie nights. There’s also Shockwaves for ages 8-12, which features video games, a lounge with a giant TV and other activities. Remix is designed for teenagers, which has its own lounge space, including video and table games such as Foosball.
