Star Princess underwent a huge renovation in early 2017, ensuring her elegant décor and leisure facilities remained up to date. She’s ideal for families, thanks to her excellent kids’ clubs including Camp Discovery, created in partnership with the Discovery Channel, and thanks to the array of dining venues that ensures even the fussiest of young guests will delight in their options.

Couples and solo travellers will love the range of bars and lounges that she has to offer too, each with their own style and sound, while the lavish casino is the ideal place to try your luck on table games and slot machines.

Star Princess Reviews

We took a glass domed carriage train direct to the Wilderness, and that’s where our Alaska spectacular began. On boarding the ship, we were escorted to our cabin which was the perfect place to recharge our batteries. Really good storage too. We were brought fresh fruit daily which was a lovely touch. The American influence, made for a really upbeat atmosphere around the ship, I loved every minute and would go again tomorrow.

The Star Princess has been my favourite cruise so far. The food was wonderful, we particularly enjoyed the tapas restaurant called Vines which was added in when the ship was in dry-dock in 2008, although even the buffet restaurant Horizon had a really excellent started of food on offer with something for everyone! We took our daughter and she loved the complimentary ice-cream. As we had a balcony cabin my husband and I treated ourselves to an Ultimate balcony meal which we had lobster sat together looking out to sea, which was magical. The entertainment programme is extensive, there is just so much to see and do! We loved to see the huge production shows but also liked to see some of the comedians and we all had a special night under the stars watching a film on the outdoor movie screen. A fabulous holiday!

This was probably one of the best cruises we had been on from Santiago ( Valparaiso ) to BA via the Falklands.
Good flights and good timings we were not waiting around too long as these were with an in direct service.

Transfers in Santiago … a little too long for my liking 2 hours …. However once at the cruise terminal the check in was so easy … very smooth and very quick.

Majority of customers on board were British and some Spanish … which was nice to see after flying half way across the world.

Once checked in we went straight to our cabin, we had booked a gty basis cabin meaning we didn’t get a cabin number at the time of booking however we had been upgraded to a superior balcony – great location mid ship and situated on deck 8. Loved the cabin … plenty of space in the cabin TV and internet signal in the cabin was very good service and even managed to watch the 6 Nations Rugby!! Which was a big plus !!! not so much for my wife however. Although she made good use of the spa facilities whilst I was watching this.

The food on board was fabulous we ate in the main dining room each evening, we didn’t bother with the speciality restaurants in the evenings.

Each morning and lunch time we ate in the buffet, this was ok but very busy at meal times.

Entertainment on board was great … similar to your London west end performances …. Also some smaller and quieter areas you could enjoy including the piano bar.

We had a lovely cruise and will be back with princess in the future

The food on board was fabulous we ate in the main dining room each evening, we didn’t bother with the speciality restaurants in the evenings.

Each morning and lunch time we ate in the buffet, this was ok but very busy at meal times.

Entertainment on board was great … similar to your London west end performances …. Also some smaller and quieter areas you could enjoy including the piano bar.

We had a lovely cruise and will be back with princess in the future
