Dining

The main dining room aboard Radiance of the Seas is Cascades, which offers floor-to-ceiling windows and serves up a delicious menu to choose from. For a more casual, no reservations alternative, Windjammer Café offers breakfast and lunch buffet-style dining with indoor and outdoor seating.

Other casual venues include the Boardwalk Dog House where you can enjoy delicious hot dogs, while the remaining restaurants all incur a fee when you choose to dine there. These include the intimate dining experience at Chef’s Table; renowned steak favourite Chops Grille; Italian-inspired Giovanni’s Table; Japanese teppanyaki-style Izumi; and the Brazilian-style Samba Grill.

Balcony Stateroom

Accommodation

There is a wide choice of cabins on-board Radiance of the Seas, starting with Inside Single staterooms offering private space for solo travellers. Inside cabins also come as a Standard Interior, which is shortly followed with the Ocean View cabins where standard, spacious and ultra-spacious are offered. For Balcony cabins, there is also a standard and spacious option, while there are four different suites to select from. Of the suites there is the Junior Suite, Grand Suite, Owner’s Suite and Royal Suite.

Pool

Activities

There is plenty to see and do on-board Radiance of the Seas, with two swimming pools, two whirlpools and plenty of deck space to soak up the sun on a sun lounger. For all those thrill-seekers there is a rock-climbing wall, or if you fancy keeping in touch with loved ones back home then there is an Internet Centre available. The Fitness Centre is fully equipped with everything you need for a great work out, go for a jog around the running track, plus there is a golf simulator, miniature golf course and a full-sized sports court where you can play the likes of tennis and basketball.

The Avenue Adventure Ocean kids’ club is a designated area on the ship specifically designed with children in mind. The club offers age-specific programmes and facilities for kids aged 3-17 years old. Facilities include their own arcade, teen disco and living room areas, with plenty of things to keep them busy on-board!

For time to yourselves, enjoy the adults-only Solarium where you can take a relaxing dip in the pool or sunbathe with your favourite book. Take a trip to the spa for a pampering session at the beauty salon or in one of the treatment rooms.

Pacifica Theater

Entertainment

There are plenty of venues all around the ship to ensure that you are fully entertained, starting with the Aurora Theatre where you can watch fabulous Broadway-style shows, cabaret acts, comedians and more. If you fancy catching the latest films then you can do so in the on-board cinema and screening room, or enjoy a blockbuster film from the comfort of your sun lounger at the outdoor screen.

If you’re feeling lucky, try your hand at the Casino Royale where you can enjoy blackjack, poker and roulette. For a more refined and relaxing atmosphere then head down to the Champagne Bar, the English Pub or Schooner Bar for chilled-out drinks and socialising with fellow guests.

Radiance of the Seas Reviews

star rating

We have been on the Radiance of the seas a couple of times now, but this one to Alaska was just out of this world. Our flight was with Air Canada into Vancouver although there was a coach called Canada line which would have taken us to the waterfront, we opted for a taxi – after all, we did have our luggage. We handed our luggage over to the guys at the ship who were very polite then got ourselves on board. It was very relaxed to be fair, the security people were very polite and helpful, not the usual gestapo type you find at some check points. We are platinum cruisers so we were direct right to the priority queue and were checked in very quickly indeed. The usual pictures for passes were taken and we were on-board. What of course to do when you get on board – well for us it was simple, straight to the windjammer for a nice light buffet lunch before going to our stateroom.

We ate in Cascades with a bunch of other people quite a lot of the time. The food was always good sometimes just a little bit simple though but good all the same. There were lots of places we could grab a snack during the day or evening if we wanted too, hot dogs, sandwiches desserts , all sorts of things. We expected the entertainment to be of the usual high standard and it was. Always lots to go and see during the day or evening. There were quite a lot of ports on this trip; we did a trip to the Mendenhall glacier which was stunning, Saw some whales going through the straights. The train trip at Skagway was very busy but still worth doing. I think the highlight of this cruise was seeing the Hubbard glacier, our ship seemed to be sailing right into it but I guess the captain must have known what he was doing. We must have only been a couple of hundred yards from it – fantastic. In all, a fabulous and totally memorable holiday. A must do.

My family and I had a really special time on board Radiance of the seas which we just have to share with everyone we talk to! A big group of us, all family travelled together and we had such a ball! The cabins were immaculate and beautiful and we all had cabins next door to each other. We really enjoyed all being together so dining together was a must which was all organised for our party of 10. The staff were wonderful and really bent over backwards for you. The ship was beautiful, particularly the centrum which was at the heart of the ship, with it’s curved staircases and glass lifts with amazing views. We loved the outdoor movie screen and the casino royale were we all had a bit of a gamble! During the days we enjoyed family games on the mini golf or challenging each other on the rock climbing wall! By night we all liked to relax so the theatre is were we all headed…the shows are unbelievable. Just like what you would see on the west-end! We will definitely choose Royal Caribbean for our next cruise!

I especially loved this ship due to the large open feel of the ship, the panoramic views out to sea were marvellous for this reason we opted for an Inside cabin which was wonderful for what we needed. We spent most of our time Colony club bar and by the pool during the day if not out exploring the wonderful ports of call.

Food was brilliant ranging from the a la carte to the snack hotdog bar!

The ship was recently vitalised so was magnificently clean the staff as always with royal Caribbean were truly wonderful. Cannot recommend Royal Caribbean highly enough
