Eastern Mediterranean Cruises

The eastern Med is a region packed with historical significance, natural wonders and modern attractions, as well as a diverse selection of excursions.

The Mediterranean as a whole is one of the world's most loved cruise destinations, so if you're looking to book you'll find plenty of variety with eastern Med cruise lengths, as well as a wide choice of cruise lines and ships.

Whether you want a mini break or something longer, a luxury getaway or a fun-filled family holiday, you'll find eastern Med cruises to suit, and the range of cities and ports in the region lends itself to any style of cruise around.

Eastern Med Destinations

The vast majority of eastern Med cruises begin on the east coast of Italy, particularly Venice. It's an iconic city perfect for a romantic getaway or just anyone with an interest in older architecture, also blessed with a unique layout and rare attractions.

Other cruises in the region begin in Greece or Turkey.

Greece is one of the most featured countries in cruises around the Mediterranean with a great mix of ports to visit. There are the ruins of Olympia among other ancient cities, as well as the mix of modern attractions and older ruins in the capital of Athens.

There are also the gorgeous islands like Santorini, where you can unwind under the sun and see beautiful natural scenery. There's also Limassol in Greek Cyprus, the second largest city on the island with its own castle and a number of excellent beaches nearby.

Turkey is similar to Greece, with a mix of islands and land ports that offer a range of sights for all interests. Istanbul in particular is a great city, offering plenty of variety with remarkable buildings harking from the modern and ancient ages, museums, shopping at the Grand Bazaar and more.

You can also visit the cities of Split and Dubrovnik in Croatia, which offer a wonderful patchwork medieval streets and museums, along with attractive harbours to enjoy on a boat tour. Dubrovnik is one of the more popular ports of call on cruises that either begin or end in Venice.

Furthermore, Valetta on the isle of Malta is packed with historical landmarks, with a fascinating heritage of the Knights of Malta reflected in churches, museums and more across the island. Kotor, in Montenegro, is another fine example of a town steeped in medieval history, as well as being home to fantastic natural views of the steep cliffs that surround the port.

Outside of Europe there's also Israel, with ports in Haifa and Ashdod letting you explore the varied attractions of the country, including the religious museums and landmarks of Jerusalem and the surrounding towns.
