Cruising with The King – Fred. Olsen’s Elvis at 80 voyage

Fred Olsen Elvis cruise

Back in January, it was Elvis Presley’s 80th birthday, with fans worldwide celebrating and paying homage to the King of Rock n’ Roll in their own way. Needless to say, the celebrations were something special in Graceland that day but if you missed it, there’s no need to spend the night in Heartbreak Hotel, because Fred.Olsen Cruise Lines is offering you the chance to celebrate in style at sea during the King’s 80th birthday year.

So what’s so special about this cruise that’s got us all shook up? Well, setting sail from your convenient UK port of Harwich, you’ll make your way to Aarhus in Denmark, which is your port of call for none other than Randers Graceland, the only replica of Elvis’ legendary home to be found outside the USA.

This fascinating museum offers the chance to see how life was like for the king both on stage and off – containing faithful reconstructions of Graceland’s rooms as well as a collection of memorabilia including costumes, film posters and rare vinyl. To really immerse yourself in Elvis’ golden era, there’s an authentic 50’s style diner too, featuring strawberry milkshakes on tap and a period jukebox loaded with Presley classics.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Fred. Olsen cruise without evening entertainment and you certainly won’t be lonesome during the evenings thanks to the presence of two award-winning Elvis tribute artists, Ben Portsmouth and Ben Thomson, as well as Elvis-themed discos and of course, the Elvis party at sea. Between them, the King-loving Bens have lifted an array of tribute artist trophies for first and second place in a number of prestigious worldwide competitions and each promise a show-stopping performance.

With the Elvis at 80 cruise departing on 13 April, it’s now or never, so don’t miss out on your chance to book and visit our Fred.Olsen pages, where you’ll find more about this cruise and have the chance to reserve your place on-board.
