South America has received a lot of attention recently, as Brazil winds down from a fantastic FIFA World Cup before gearing up for the 2016 Summer Olympics Games. It will come as no surprise, therefore, that Fred.Olsen Cruises has announced a new and exciting 46 night South America Explorer cruise for 2016 aboard the feature-packed Balmoral cruise ship – visiting a wide range of fascinating ports across this vast and beautiful continent.
This exotic and adventurous voyage will take in a total of 16 destinations across South America, including seven along the stunning coastline of the continent’s most famous nation – Brazil.
Departing on a round trip from Southampton on 19th January 2016, the Balmoral will call in Madeira, Tenerife and the Cape Verde Islands off the west coast of Africa before arriving in the Brazilian port of Fortelaza for the South American leg of the journey. The ship will dock in other Brazilian destinations, including Fernando de Noronha, Recife, Ilheus, Ilha Grande and Rio de Janeiro in time for the marvellous Rio Carnival. Other destinations incorporated within the itinerary will include Montevideo and Punta De Este in Uruguay as well as the vibrant Argentinian capital of Buenos Aires.
