Get fit with MSC Cruises in 2017

MSC cruises cruise118

While many of us associate cruising with fine cuisine, return visits to the buffet and poolside snacks, wellness at sea is growing trend and for many cruisers, keeping fit is an important part of their holiday and it’s something which MSC Cruises is all too aware of, with an industry-first announcement.

MSC Cruises, in partnership with Technogym, is introducing an all-new Welcome Experience, where the focus is totally on fitness your way, with a bespoke experience allowing cruisers to combine culture with cutting the carbs. In this brand-new cruising experience, passengers will enjoy a totally personalised programme and be able to take advantage of cutting edge technology, MSC’s own Master Trainers and facilities complimented by carefully-crafted menus and exclusive on-shore activities.

This isn’t just an optional extra or a keep fit token gesture, "SP_sport deck_03.jpg"as MSC will be with you every step (up) of the way, with passengers’ experiences beginning before they set sail through completion of a scientific online questionnaire. The results of this questionnaire will form the basis of the wellness programme throughout your cruise, guaranteeing a totally bespoke fitness experience.

The Mywellness app tracks your movement and sets you a daily target using both GPS and accelerometer functions and integrates both indoor and outdoor training. You can also access all the on-board timetables for on-board fitness classes and on the subject of classes, the new initiative will be complimented by a range of brand-new ones, including Bella Barre and Hula Fit, with favourites like yoga and Pilates still very much in evidence.

Dedicated wellness menuNutrition is also a big part of the Wellness Experience, and there will be a comprehensive selection of wellness menu options in the main restaurant, as well as a dedicated wellness corner in the buffet available throughout the day and night and on the room service menu.

There are other perks if you choose to join the programme too, with your choice of cabins on the most desirable areas of the ship and a wellness mat and bag in your room, helpfully equipped with fitness clothing and a towel. There’s a dedicated channel on your in-room TV and the mini-bar will include sports drinks too.

If you’re geared up to get fit, the Wellness Experience is coming to MSC ships from April 2017, just in time to put that postponed New Year’s resolution into action next year! We have a good selection of MSC 2017 cruises available, so take a look at what’s on offer then call us to book your perfect cruise on which to get fit in 2017!
