Following the announcement back in 2017, MSC Cruises has finally released sailings on-board the stunning new MSC Grandiosa. She is the first of two new ships to come into service in 2019 and will spend her inaugural winter season in the Western Mediterranean.
Magnificence and grandeur
MSC Cruises has named this ultra-modern mega-ship to signify magnificence and grandeur, providing a truly inspiring setting for guests.
Grandiosa will be the first Meraviglia-Plus ship for MSC Cruises and will feature the first fine-art museum at sea, boasting some of the world’s most beautiful classic and contemporary art.
She will offer accommodation for up to 6,334 guests and will be one of the two largest ships ever built for a European cruise line. This new arrival continues the cruise line’s 11 ship-strong expansion for 2026, which began with MSC Meraviglia which in early 2017.
MSC Grandiosa will capitalise on the current features seen on-board other ships in the MSC fleet, including the Cirque du Soleil performances. MSC Cruises’ Executive Chairman, Pierfrancesco Vago said:
“With MSC Grandiosa we continue to innovate in product. Just as MSC Cruises ‘democratised’ the luxury cruise experience when we were the first cruise brand to introduce a ship-in-ship luxury concept – the MSC Yacht Club – we are now doing the same for art and culture with the very first fine art museum at sea. MSC Grandiosa will be the third of only four MSC Cruises ships to exclusively feature Cirque du Soleil at Sea, hosted in the uniquely complex, custom-built Carousel Lounge.”
Setting sail for the future
Alongside MSC Grandiosa, MSC Sinfonia will also offer longer cruises of up to 14 nights in the Mediterranean for the winter season, and MSC Bellissima will come into service in March 2019, offering cruises in the Mediterranean before moving to the Middle East for the winter.
Across the Atlantic, MSC Meraviglia will sail on ten-night round-trip itineraries from New York, calling at the ports of Boston, Quebec and St. Jon, before reaching Miami as part of a six-ship deployment for the 2019-2020 winter season.
MSC Cruises has also announced that a further Meraviglia-Plus ship will set sail in 2020, followed by a third Seaside-class ship in 2021, then four World-class ships between 2022 and 2026.
With such big plans in place, MSC Cruises is set to offer some of the world’s finest ships at sea, continuing to introduce exciting new options for guests with impeccable service, elegant design and award-winning entertainment.
