MSC Cruises reveals details on new 2021 ship

Steel-cutting ceremony - MSC Seashore

MSC Cruises have revealed details on their brand new ship, the first of the cruise line’s Seaside EVO class. It will be named MSC Seashore and will be joining the fleet in spring 2021, where she will have space for 5,632 passengers and 1,648 crew on board.

Brand new Seaside EVO class

The ship will include stand out features which will become standard on the Seaside EVO class, including an additional lounge at the aft of the ship; an enhanced MSC Yacht Club which will cover three decks; speciality restaurants and al fresco dining on the promenade; as well as more whirlpools across the ship than before.

She will also feature a wrap-around promenade on deck 8, as seen on preceding cruise ships – MSC Seaside and MSC Seaview.

MSC Cruises have also revealed that the Seaside EVO class will be more environmentally friendly, including features such as selective catalytic reduction system, exhaust gas cleaning technology, state-of-the-art waste management and recycling systems, advanced water treatment systems, advanced heat and energy recovery systems and plenty other technology measures to increase energy efficiency.

The cruise line have said that the name, Seashore, is inspired by the classic cruising experience and the concept that guests are brought closest to the sea whilst also enjoying a holiday at sea, cruising in warm climates within a unique setting.

More ships for the MSC Cruises’ fleet

MSC Seashore will be the first of two ships on order, with her sister-ship expected to join her 18-months later in autumn 2022. The name for this second ship is yet to be revealed.

MSC Cruises’ Executive Chairman, Pierfrancesco Vago, said:

“With the Seaside Class, we introduced to the market one of the more innovative cruise ship prototypes all-around – our fifth out of six to-date – thus setting a new industry standard for others to follow.

“Today, only one year after MSC Seaside entered into service, we are taking this award-winning concept to the next level by starting the construction of a further evolved and even richer ship.

“MSC Seashore is an example of our commitment to bringing the most innovative and technologically-advanced tonnage to the sea, and will be bestowed with the latest and best maritime and environmental technology available.”
